Position Summary

Media Relations & External Communications Professional is responsible for strengthening Siemens’ external reputation through strategic media engagement, executive communications, thought leadership, content development, and reputation management initiatives. This role drives proactive storytelling and executive visibility while supporting crisis communications preparedness and response. The position combines media relations, thought leadership, content strategy, research, social media amplification, and stakeholder engagement to position Siemens as a leading voice in digitalization, sustainability, infrastructure, industrial technology, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute integrated media relations, executive communications, thought leadership, and reputation management strategies aligned with Siemens’ business priorities and communications objectives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, analysts, influencers, and key opinion leaders to strengthen Siemens’ visibility and positioning across key industries and stakeholder groups.

Identify, develop, and promote compelling stories that position Siemens and its leaders as trusted voices in innovation, digitalization, sustainability, infrastructure, and industrial technology.

Lead the development of strategic communications materials, including press releases, media briefings, messaging frameworks, executive talking points, Q&As, speeches, presentations, and stakeholder communications.

Drive executive visibility initiatives through media engagement, speaking opportunities, conferences, industry events, podcasts, webinars, and other thought leadership platforms.

Create and oversee high-quality content that supports corporate reputation and business objectives, including articles, opinion pieces, blogs, social media content, whitepapers, research reports, industry perspectives, case studies, and trend analyses.

Partner with executives and subject matter experts to translate complex business, technology, and industrial topics into compelling narratives for external audiences.

Develop and execute executive and corporate social media strategies that amplify earned media, thought leadership, key announcements, and strategic business narratives.

Monitor and analyze media coverage, social media conversations, industry developments, competitor activity, public sentiment, and emerging issues to identify opportunities, risks, and actionable insights.

Support crisis communications, issues management, and reputation protection efforts through preparedness planning, messaging development, stakeholder communications, and rapid response activities.

Ensure consistency and alignment of all external communications with Siemens’ global communications strategy, brand standards, and corporate messaging.

Collaborate closely with business units, marketing, corporate affairs, digital communications, and global communications teams to deliver integrated communications programs and measurable business impact.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field.

7–10+ years of experience in media relations, corporate communications, public relations, executive communications, or reputation management.

Experience working within technology, industrial, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, or related B2B sectors preferred.

Proven track record of securing high-impact media coverage and managing executive visibility programs.

Strong experience developing thought leadership content, executive communications, articles, whitepapers, research reports, and strategic messaging.

Experience supporting crisis communications and issues management initiatives.

Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, and content development skills in both English and Spanish.

Strong understanding of digital communications, social media platforms, and content amplification strategies.

Experience using media monitoring, analytics, research, and AI-enabled content tools.

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Strong strategic thinking, judgment, and problem-solving capabilities.

Proven experience managing public relations agencies and communications teams, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, messaging consistency, and measurable results
