WPP Production is looking for a Senior Project Manager
Role
The Senior Production Project Manager is responsible for ensuring a smooth operation across project intake, execution, profitability and overall satisfaction, including quality, on-time delivery, and on budget completion of projects for the dedicated Client(s) in their assigned portfolio. Responsibilities include client relationship management, delivery management, financial management, and supporting the health of the client/brands in their portfolio. The Senior Production Project Manager is required to have a thorough understanding of all areas of the WPP Production business and be able to partner with clients and all discipline leads to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment. They work with and report to the Production Lead. They partner with clients, creative and discipline leads to set up clients, projects and execute on our production strategy.
In addition to the above, the Senior Production Project Manager is accountable for their client's profitability and resource utilization. They will work across disciplines, as well as with our regional and global teams. The successful candidate will use their superior problem-solving skills, judgment, and excellent relationship-building skills to be a leader and mentor for the team and the agency overall.
Client Project Management:
Responsible for managing key client relationships with a focus on intake, delivery and production strategy across business(es).
Acts as the primary contact on key clients, defining scope and approach, setting and managing expectations and deliverables, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and structuring regular status updates and communications.
Works with clients (brands) and partners (agencies, vendors, etc.) to ensure a clear understanding of the production brief, deliverables and timeline for each project and relays those details to other members of the team as necessary.
Accurately identifies types of work and scopes, timing, difficulty of work and defines the processes necessary to get things done, simplifying complex processes.
Oversees delivery and execution of briefs/projects as lead partner to client.
Develops and maintains high levels of team effectiveness (trust, communication, collaboration, productivity, diversity, engagement).
Influences the efficiency and quality of work and advocates for the agency/client relationship.
Demonstrates strong collaboration skills with internal agency teams and key external partners to ensure quality and adherence to production guidelines for key deliverables.
Owns integrated delivery roadmaps and timelines on engagements.
Liaises with offshore hubs to ensure collaboration and clarity of commercial strategy and ways of working.
WPP Production Responsibilities:
Drives high-quality work by leading initiatives from planning through delivery.
Responsible for oversight and execution of projects through the project lifecycle.
Works closely with the Production Lead to identify improvements to existing workflow and processes.
Works to ensure the right resource allocation and management on any given program/project.
Responsible for the execution of monthly financial tasks: Revenue Recognition, Job Close, Billing, etc.
Manages development and review of SOWs, staff estimates, profitability analysis, and utilization, working with Finance where appropriate.
Ensures a thorough understanding of contractual obligations, commercial arrangements, and SLAs, and ensures specific details are understood by the broader team.
Works with the Production Lead to drive timesheet compliance and reporting across teams.
Helps identify and mitigate risk and develop contingency plans.
Provides mentorship and guidance to team members.
Works with the Production Lead and Head of Project Management to lead business-driven and operational initiatives (training, PC management, new client onboarding, tool rollout/support, etc.).
Supports new hires in training and ways of working onboarding.
Supports the Production Lead in the review of structure and resource allocation.
Contributes to WPP Production North America culture by exhibiting ownership, professionalism, passion, and leading by example.
Identifies opportunities for WPP Production to create award-winning work within their account/projects.
Leverages WPP's global network to deliver great work.
Requirements:
Minimum of 9 years of related experience within an international studio production environment, with a strong understanding of marketing and production implementation processes across all key channels, including digital, video, content, etc.
Minimum 2 years supervising and managing resources and direct reports.
Experience working with global teams and managing accounts in consulting, auditing, or financial services environments is required.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and relationships cross-functionally.
Strong interpersonal and management skill set to influence the direction and attainment of project objectives without line management of resources.
An appreciation for how great work gets done and a commitment to ensuring flawless creative execution.
Proven ability to lead dynamic teams.
Demonstrates an ability to solve problems with solutions that work for all stakeholders without compromising the quality of the deliverables or the project.
Must be commercially astute and able to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
Foundational experience with project management and staffing strategies.
Foundational experience on global brands.
Expert client relationship skills including presenting to clients, dealing with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to think on your feet.
Strong written/oral communication skills.
Experience working with offshore teams a plus.
