The impact you'll make:
Reporting to the Director, People & Total Rewards, the Manager, Talent Acquisition, is responsible for the ownership and continuous improvement of end-to-end talent acquisition practices and processes within the organization. This role drives our organization’s success by designing scalable recruitment strategies, shaping our employer brand, and acting as a strategic advisor to hiring managers and executives. With accountability for ensuring consistent, inclusive, and positive candidate experience, the Manager, Talent Acquisition plays a pivotal role in building a strong and dynamic workforce to meet business objectives. This is a hands-on role where you will support the end-to-end recruitment of high priority roles across our support office. This role also has one direct report and holds organizational leadership for talent acquisition, ensuring practices are aligned, efficient, and sustainable. This is a 12-month contract covering a maternity leave.

What you'll do:
Talent Advisory
Collaborate with executives and hiring managers to define recruitment needs and create detailed job descriptions
Facilitate communication with interview panels to ensure preparedness during the interview process
Partner with executives and hiring managers to influence effective recruitment strategies and manage expectations regarding time to fill, compensation, candidate pool quality, and market feedback
Provide training and coaching to hiring managers
Utilize, position and encourage hiring manager feedback in alignment with our assessment tool
Actively seek ways to improve our candidate experience, workflow, & impact with the use of automations and AI
Act as the organizational owner of talent acquisition strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and workforce planning needs
Sourcing and Recruitment
Identify and market open positions through the company's careers page and job boards like Indeed and LinkedIn
Utilize various channels, including social media, resume databases, industry contacts, and professional networks to source potential candidates
Engage with both active and passive job seekers, matching them with current job opportunities
Conduct pre-screening interviews via phone, video, or in-person to evaluate candidate suitability
Select and present the most qualified candidates to hiring managers
Proactively identify future talent (skillset) needs and maintain a pool of passive candidates for future vacancies
Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and relevant stakeholders
Drive consistency and scalability across recruitment practices, ensuring they are sustainable and effective across the organization
Candidate Experience
Manage candidate expectations and engage with candidates throughout the hiring process
Collaborate with the wider People team to design and improve the hiring and onboarding process
Maintain regular communication with candidates and collect feedback on their experience
Own the candidate experience feedback loop – reporting and discussing feedback on a quarterly basis
Own and continuously enhance the end-to-end candidate experience, ensuring it reflects Saje’s values and culture
Employer Branding
Work in conjunction with marketing, people operations, and business leaders to establish and promote the company's employer brand identity
Manage the company's presence on platforms such as Glassdoor and LinkedIn
Utilize social media channels such as LinkedIn to increase awareness of our culture and recruiting efforts
Foster and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, colleges, vendors, associations, and other entities that can support our talent acquisition processes
Serve as a brand ambassador for the organization, ensuring recruitment practices consistently reinforce a strong and attractive employer brand
Process Improvement and Development
Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance talent acquisition practices, processes, and systems
Monitor and report on talent acquisition metrics such as time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate, candidate pool volume and quality
Propose solutions when hitting roadblocks regarding candidate pool quality, and encourage talent attraction solutions
Identify, action and oversee the successful completion of various talent projects and initiatives
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of scalable talent acquisition processes, ensuring they are efficient and aligned with organizational growth
Establish best practices and guidelines for hiring to ensure consistent application across the organization
People Operations
Collaborate closely with the People & Culture Manager on a variety of HR projects
Assist with people operations projects and daily tasks as required
Provide thought leadership and act as the subject matter expert in talent acquisition within the People function, influencing cross-functional HR strategies
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, including demonstrated ownership of recruitment strategies, processes, or initiatives
A curious, forward-thinking mindset—you see talent acquisition as a strategic driver of business success and actively look for ways to its impact, influence, and credibility
Experience operating in fast-paced, evolving environments where adaptability, creativity, and proactive problem-solving are essential (startup or high-growth experience is a strong asset)
Proven ability to evolve and refine scalable, modern recruitment practices that balance quality, efficiency, and candidate experience
Strong track record of influencing and partnering skills with senior leaders
Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality hiring outcomes across a range of roles, with a focus on building strong, diverse, and future-ready teams
An advocate for inclusive, equitable hiring practices, with the ability to embed these principles into everyday processes and decision-making
Strong business acumen, with the ability to connect talent strategies to broader organizational goals and priorities
Data-driven and insight-oriented, with the ability to leverage metrics to influence decisions, measure impact, and continuously improve outcomes
Strong understanding of recruitment-related compliance and employment standards within Canada
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a natural ability to influence, coach, and build trust across all levels of the organization
Highly organized and able to navigate multiple priorities while maintaining focus on what will drive the greatest impact
Experience leading a small team is an asset, but not required

The compensation range on average for this position is from $90,000 - 100,000 annually. Base pay is dependent on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
