Experience Design Manager - Argos In-Store
We can consider a London, Coventry or Manchester base location for this role.

We’re looking for an Experience Design Manager to lead our in-store & colleague experiences, shaping how millions of people browse, buy, and interact with Argos every day.
This is a role for someone who loves combining hands-on design, team leadership, and emerging technology to deliver measurable impact.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead and grow a brilliant design team
Manage, coach and inspire a team of experience designers
Create a culture of high standards, curiosity, and continuous improvement
Support career growth while keeping momentum on delivery
Reporting to the Head of Experience Design
Own the in-store experience
Shape the future of in-store and assisted digital journeys from kiosks to collections, payments, and beyond
Design experiences that connect seamlessly with our app, website, and operational systems
Balance totally unique challenges with bold, innovative thinking
Stay hands-on
Get stuck into design work when it matters
Guide teams through complex problems, from idea to execution
Move fluidly between big-picture strategy and detailed design decisions
Use AI-powered design tools and workflows to accelerate insight, ideation, and delivery
Lead by example in exploring smarter, efficient ways to design
Deliver real customer & business impact
You’ll be accountable for outcomes that matter, including:
Improving customer & colleague satisfaction
Increasing conversion and in-store purchase rates
Reducing friction across key journeys
Designing experiences that are simple, inclusive, and genuinely helpful
Collaborate across the business
Work closely with Product, Engineering, Retail, and Commercial teams
Bring stakeholders on the journey through clear thinking and compelling storytelling
Turn insight into action at pace
Essential Criteria:
At least 3 years experience managing a design team
Strong hands-on UX / product / service design capability
A experience and or passion for omni-channel E2E experiences
Confidence working with data, research, and experimentation
Experience in using AI in design workflows
Someone who thrives in fast-moving, ambitious environments
