We are looking for an exceptional Director of Human Resources to join our team. A successful candidate will perform all expected tasks with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail.
Job Description : The Director of Human Resources will perform all duties in the following areas: recruitment, training and development, benefit administration, associate recognition and associate relations with assistance of Human Resources Coordinator and Payroll Coordinator. The Human Resources Director will report to the Director of Operations and Chief Financial Officer, overseen by General Manager.
General Responsibilities Include :
He/She will develop, execute and oversee all recruiting and hiring efforts. Oversee pre-employment process, interview process & manage onboarding efforts.
Organize and conduct all training efforts in regards to New Hire Orientation, Open Enrollment and monthly Safety Training.
Plan and execute Employee relations events, quarterly and yearly celebrations.
Develop, implement and administer policies and training programs to ensure efficient hotel operations, and foster a positive and productive employment environment.
Advise and train managers on best practices in resolving associate issues.
Process and maintain all workers compensation claims and cases. Maintain OSHA log, update IIPP when necessary.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Knowledge of policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations in accordance with industry trends and government regulations.
Maintain a professional, friendly, positive demeanor with a team player attitude.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with management and executive committee. Network and foster the Human Resources presence in the city of Long Beach.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work assignments.
Computer proficiency.
Bilingual, Spanish speaking is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours.
Requires repetitive motions, bending, sitting, walking, listening, hearing and visual ability.
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
3+ years Human resources experience.
All associates must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
Salary based on experience.
Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Ruffin Companies. The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
