We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and integration of our next-generation electronic devices. In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical hardware and computer code, taking ownership of the entire firmware lifecycle from initial proof-of-concept to production-ready software. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional hardware and product teams.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design: Define high-level software architecture, state machines, and sequence diagrams for robust, low-power embedded systems.
Firmware Development: Write, test, and optimize clean, maintainable, and high-performance code in C/C++ for bare-metal systems, Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), or embedded Linux.
Hardware-Software Integration: Partner closely with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and interface code with sensors, power management circuits, and analog electronics.
Testing & Troubleshooting: Debug complex system-level bugs using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters.
Mentorship & Leadership: Conduct rigorous code reviews, establish engineering best practices, and guide junior and mid-level engineers.
Core Technical Requirements
Education: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software/firmware development.
Programming: Deep proficiency in legacy and modern development languages
Hardware Platforms: Extensive experience working with microcontrollers/microprocessors
Protocols: In-depth understanding of standard communication protocols and buses.
Tools: Expert familiarity with hardware debugging tools
Military Domain/Weapon Systems Experience: 10 years of documented and verifiable military systems, technical, and maintenance experience. Military technical instructor experience preferred
Security Clearance Requirement
Must have a current TS/SCI security clearance or be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance to start work.
