Job Overview:
The Manager, People Systems provides leadership and direction for a team responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and strategic evolution of key People Systems platforms. With deep expertise in People systems and strong leadership capability, this role oversees a product vertical that may include multiple functional areas (e.g., Workday, Cornerstone SBX, etc.). This leader ensures operational excellence, drives process innovation, manages team capacity, and partners closely with People Team COEs and business leaders to translate strategic needs into scalable system solutions. The Manager serves as both a consultative expert and a people leader—developing talent, managing performance, and fostering an environment grounded in curiosity, agility, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
People Leadership & Talent Management
Provide direct supervision and guidance to Analysts and Sr. Analysts, assigning tasks, monitoring work, and ensuring high‑quality outcomes.
Coach, mentor, and develop team members; support growth plans and provide real‑time feedback.
Manage performance, including evaluations, timesheet approvals, and calibration processes.
Build team capability and resilience; cultivate inclusion and value diverse perspectives.
Drive engagement across the team and pods, ensuring alignment to departmental engagement initiatives.
Operational Leadership & Resource Management
Oversee capacity planning, ensuring pods are effectively resourced across product verticals.
Serve as owner of Key and Non‑Key controls; ensure compliance and audit readiness.
Monitor Salesforce queues to ensure SLAs are met and remove operational barriers.
Maintain schedules and workflows; intervene when needed to resolve complex issues.
Partner with Tech team on execution of enhancements and system‑level initiatives.
Manage POs/BPOs and related invoicing processes; support broader budget planning.
Strategic Consultation & Stakeholder Partnership
Act as a liaison and primary contact for Business Product Owners, business partners, and People leaders.
Provide strategic guidance on enhancement requests, system capabilities, best practices, and compliance considerations.
Use data and KPIs to track performance, identify themes, and develop actionable operational plans.
Breakdown complex problems and assign work to optimize team effectiveness.
Confidently make decisions with transparency and accountability.
Systems Expertise & Product Leadership
Maintain deep functional and technical understanding of Workday, troubleshooting and solutioning fluidly across the platform.
Monitor product roadmaps and advise partners on the applicability of new features.
Understand system connection points, integration options, and downstream impacts.
Lead or support the design, configuration, and delivery of complex system solutions.
Strategic Agility & Continuous Improvement
Lead with curiosity, humility, and accountability; model resilience in ambiguous situations.
Establish and manage processes that enable continuous review and improvement of efficiency.
Utilize the LPL Values to drive consistency, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Apply business storytelling—written and verbal—to articulate strategy, rationale, and value of solutions.

Lead innovative thinking to simplify, optimize, and problem‑solve complex challenges.

Requirements:
5–6+ years of HR systems experience with advanced depth in Workday.
Prior experience supervising or leading a technical team.
Strong consultative, problem‑solving, and analytical capability.
Proven ability to lead change, manage complex projects, and communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships across teams and levels.
Preferences:
Experience managing Cornerstone SBX, or a similar enterprise LMS system.
Experience with agile methodologies, or product‑based operating models.
Core Competencies:
Able to make quick decisions and resolve complex technical problems
Ability to manage through shift changes and effectively transition open and unresolved issues.

Good documentation skills.

Ability to work peak, off-peak, weekend, and holiday shifts.
