We are seeking a Deputy Project Manager / Construction Manager within the Construction/ Ground Engineering sector for a permanent position based in a Central, MRT-accessible location. This role follows a 5-day or 5.5-day work week (44 hours), offering a comprehensive remuneration package that includes basic salary, allowances, AWS, and variable bonus. What You’ll Be Doing
Lead the development and refinement of construction methodologies, execution plans, and work sequencing strategies for both tender submissions and project delivery.
Review tender documents, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and geotechnical reports to identify construction risks, constraints, and opportunities.
Develop safe, practical, and cost-effective construction solutions that are buildable and efficiently executable on site.
Prepare detailed method statements, construction phasing plans, temporary works schemes, and technical proposal submissions.
Plan project schedules, manpower deployment, resource allocation, equipment usage, and marine logistics to optimize productivity and efficiency.
Coordinate closely with design, engineering, construction, and commercial teams to ensure alignment across methodology, schedule, budget, and risk management.
Support value engineering initiatives by proposing alternative construction methods to improve cost efficiency and project competitiveness.
Provide technical and construction methodology support during execution phases and assist in resolving site-related challenges.
Capture project learnings and drive continuous improvement in construction methods and organizational processes.
What We’re Looking For
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in marine works, MRT projects, deep excavation, geotechnical engineering, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong expertise in construction methodology development, project planning, and site execution.
Proven ability to develop practical, buildable, and cost-efficient engineering solutions.
Solid knowledge of construction sequencing, temporary works design, marine logistics coordination, equipment utilization planning, and productivity optimization techniques.
Experience in projects involving LTA, HDB, MPA, PSA, or other public sector agencies will be advantageous.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
Capable of working independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across tender and project delivery stages.
