MISSION
Project Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the engineering and project management aspects of an underground mining and processing plant expansion. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in complex mining projects, particularly in iron ore processing and will possess strong leadership, communication and technical expertise in project management.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Define project scope, objectives and deliverables to align with organizational strategy and technical feasibility.
Lead the development of detailed project designs and specifications in collaboration with engineering teams.
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resource allocation and budget estimates.
Lead or participate in due diligence assessments and feasibility studies for new projects or acquisitions.
Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement in project methodologies and technologies.
Drive process optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Lead the application of standardized frameworks for consistent engineering practices across capital projects.
Develop and maintain a Project Engineering Management framework to ensure world-class project delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering or a related field
Expertise in process optimization, capacity upgrades and de-bottlenecking (heap leach experience is highly advantageous).
Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects with budgets exceeding $250 million from PFS to completion.
Strong background in process flowsheet development, feasibility studies, regulatory compliance, budget management, cost control and resource optimization.
Experience in full lifecycle EPCM delivery environment managing contractors, site construction and commissioning. Working closely with the client
Strong commercial, contract and change management experience
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD).
