About the role

Overview:

Data Governance Sr Manager, Data Access and Privacy Lead (Barcelona)

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Sr Manager to lead the Data Access and Privacy capability pillar as part of our Global Data Governance Team. This role is responsible for the strategic design, development, implementation, and adoption of data access and privacy efforts to further advance PepsiCo's data governance framework.

The Access and Privacy lead sets the enterprise direction for how data is accessed, protected, and used responsibly across PepsiCo— delivering the policies, standards, procedures, and controls that govern data access and privacy compliance, and ensuring business requirements are translated into effective platform-level implementations.

Data Access

Acting as the Subject Matter Expert on Data Access, this role is responsible for the strategic development and ownership of key materials related to data access management — including policies, procedures, standards, training, and communications. The Sr Manager will partner with stakeholders across the organization to drive alignment and adoption of consistent data access management practices, and will partner with the Data Governance Platform (Informatica) team to operationalize access management capabilities across the enterprise.

Data Privacy

The Sr Manager will also bring deep knowledge of data privacy best practices and partner extensively with Legal Privacy, Compliance, and Data Product Management to define data privacy-related processes to be enabled enterprise-wide through our global data privacy platform. Acting as the key point of contact between business and technical stakeholders, this role serves as a liaison to understand, document, and define requirements that are delivered to the technical platform team for implementation.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Own and maintain enterprise data access policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring they are current, compliant, and operationally adopted

Lead the design and implementation of data access management frameworks, including role-based access controls, data classification alignment, and access request/approval workflows

Partner with the Data Governance platform team (Informatica) to translate governance requirements into platform-level configurations and controls

Serve as the primary liaison between the Data Governance team and Legal Privacy, translating privacy obligations (including GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable regulations) into actionable governance requirements

Drive stakeholder engagement and change management efforts to ensure consistent understanding and adoption of data access and privacy standards across the organization

Develop and deliver training and communication materials to educate data stewards, data engineers, and business stakeholders on access and privacy governance requirements

Monitor the effectiveness of access and privacy controls, identifying gaps and driving continuous improvement

Support audit and compliance activities related to data access and privacy, serving as a subject matter expert for internal and external reviews

Lead and develop a team, including prioritization, goal setting, coaching, and performance

Qualifications:

Qualifications & Requirements

7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field, with direct, hands-on experience in both data access management and data privacy

Demonstrated experience designing and implementing data access frameworks, including role-based access controls, entitlement management, and access governance workflows in a large enterprise environment

Working knowledge of global privacy regulations including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable data protection laws, with experience translating legal requirements into operational processes

Experience partnering with Legal, Compliance, or Privacy teams to develop and operationalize privacy governance programs

Strong ability to develop and drive adoption of policies, standards, and procedures across large, matrixed organizations

Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills — able to work effectively across technical and non-technical audiences at all levels

Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; advanced degree a plus

Relevant certifications such as CDMP, CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT preferred
