Product Owner, Group Retirement Services (GRS) Retiree Digital Experience

About the Opportunity
The GRS Client Journey team is building the future of self-serve retirement services. As Product Owner for our retiree digital experience, you'll lead an agile team in creating intuitive digital functionality that makes transitioning into, and managing retirement accessible and engaging for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
Product Vision & Strategy
Define and communicate an ambitious product vision that aligns with team strategy and organizational goals
Partner with business leaders to establish product business value and support customer communication initiatives
Stay current on market trends and competitive solutions to identify opportunities for innovation
Backlog Management & Delivery
Translate user needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria using market and industry insights
Prioritize and maintain a healthy backlog that keeps the team prepared 3-4 sprints ahead
Own the end-to-end delivery strategy from concept to production launch
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure digital products meet business requirements
Set and track product-specific OKRs, providing regular progress updates to stakeholders
Champion simplicity in design and development to accelerate time-to-market and enable faster customer feedback
Performance Optimization
Monitor launched digital assets and develop frameworks to measure the impact of improvements
Identify and propose experimentation opportunities through test-and-learn approaches
Continuously optimize product performance based on data and user insights
Change Management
Oversee business and operational change management activities from planning through completion
Implement timelines, track progress, and proactively manage risks and dependencies across initiatives

Excellent communication skills with confidence presenting to senior business stakeholders
Ability to navigate and build relationships across a large, complex organization
Strong collaborative approach working with Technical Leads, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional teams
Technical & Analytical Acumen
Deep understanding of agile development methodologies and best practices
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze options and recommend optimal solutions
Sound grasp of financial and accounting concepts

Education & Experience
University degree in Marketing, Business, or Information Technology
Significant strategic experience with focus on business model evolution and digital transformation
Demonstrated expertise in mobile product development and digital channels
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
