Senior Cloud Architect (Cloud Migration & Modernization)

Role description

Job Summary

Experienced AWS Cloud Architect to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud architecture, migration strategies, and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement highly scalable, reliable, and secure AWS cloud architectures

Lead cloud migration initiatives (on-premise to AWS)

Define and enforce best practices for cloud architecture, security, and governance

Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams

Optimize cloud costs and performance

Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform)

Ensure compliance with security standards and policies

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams

Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as:

o EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFront

Expertise in cloud architecture design patterns and frameworks

Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS)

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)

Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline)

Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, VPN, Load Balancing)

Experience in security best practices (encryption, IAM roles, compliance)

Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certifications such as:

o AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

o AWS Certified DevOps Engineer

Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments

Background in Agile / Scrum methodologies

Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Must Have

Bilingual language (Japanese) fluent proficiency in read / write. Minimum of N2 level certification or (N3 with fluent spoken ability).

Hands-on experience in AWS architecture

Knowledge of serverless architecture patterns

Exposure to FinOps practices
