JOB DESCRIPTION
The Trade Finance Executive is responsible for providing end-to-end support for trade finance activities, focusing on import-export related products and ensuring smooth execution of transactions across Commercial and Global Banking as well as Structured and Commodities client segments. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and customers to facilitate timely processing, effective risk management, and adherence to regulatory and internal policies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial and Global Banking Segment: • Handle and process import-export trade finance products including: Documents under Letters of Credit (LC), Letter of Credit -Usance Payable at Sight(UPAS LC), Documents under Collection, Open Account Financing • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of import-export transactions. • Provide assistance to remedial management on Non-Performing Loans (NPL) including coordination and documentation. • Advise clients on financing solutions, loan structuring, and repayment plans. • Monitor and track expiring loans and upcoming due payments to ensure timely acceptance and settlement. • Assess customer loan eligibility and respond to client inquiries efficiently. • Perform transaction checks on the Trade Registry system for transactions within Trade Finance Reporting (TFR) thresholds. • Coordinate with the Trade Hub Team at Head Office Structured and Commodities Segment: • Support and process import-export trade finance products: Documents under LC, Letter of Credit- Usance Payable at Sight (UPAS LC), Documents under Collection, Open Account Financing, Risk Participation, FI Trade Loan. • Work closely with the Middle Office team to execute commodity trade finance deals smoothly and within policy guidelines. • Verify availability and sufficiency of funds for incoming and outgoing transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness. • Track and monitor outstanding bills to ensure follow-up and prompt payment. • Conduct Anti-Money Laundering (AML) transaction screening, identifying and escalating suspicious or irregular activities. • Conduct Vessel movement screening(Lloyds) to ensure there is such shipments and to ensure vessels does not transit at sanction port(s) • Conduct International Maritime Bureau (IMB) checks to ensure the genuineness of the Bill of Lading. • Perform checks on the Trade Registry system for TFR-reportable transactions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business, or related field. • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in trade finance operations within a banking environment. • Familiarity with import-export related products and trade finance documentation. • Strong knowledge of trade finance instruments and regulatory requirements. • Attention to detail with strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities. • Good communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and cross-functional coordination. • Time management and ability to multitask under pressure.
