ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Leads, directs and controls the activities of all the operations of the organisation so that the organisation achieves its short and long-term financial and operating objectives as set by the overall corporate business plan.

Establishes and oversees budgets, plans, policies, and programmes that will effectively implement the business strategies and objectives set.

Sets and monitors the performance of the Company against, standards and targets in areas such as operational and administration efficiency, cost control, sales revenue, legal compliance, and human resource management. Monitors the Company’s competitive environment to identify business threats and opportunities and develop business plans to address them.

Leads, directs, evaluates and develops a team of managers to ensure that the Company’s business strategy is implemented effectively, consistently and according to established guidelines and budgets.

Develops and executes strategic planning in financial, operational and market development and ensures achievement of the agreed and set targets.

Formulates and administers country policies, and mid to long-term goals and strategies, in alignment with those defined at the regional level.

Focuses on growth strategies and profitability by driving sustainable profit levels, increasing overall Company competitive advantage.

Ensures effective communication in all levels within the Company through employee engagement activities such as regular employee meetings, management meeting and Company newsletters etc.

Creates synergies across functions and businesses within the country to achieve operational excellence.

Collaborates with the AP Management team to formulate strategies and tactics focusing on market penetration, effective pricing and achievement of overall goals, while ensuring effective planning of resources on delivery of these goals.

Handles coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.

Develop strong ties with key customers and key accounts and be proactive in understanding the trends and issues likely to impact the market.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or related field.

Minimum 10 years of experience in sales/marketing in a leadership position with a strong history of interaction and leadership at a multidisciplinary level.

Strong understanding of all functional areas and their value to the business, as well as experience working in the medical device industry.

Strategic thinking and planning with a broad frame of reference that includes external factors such as customers, competitors, demographics, macro-economic drivers and other external constituencies such as governments and communities.

Experience with cardiology products is an added advantage.

Strong technical knowledge related to medical devices as well as clinical knowledge related to device usage.

Proactive, hands-on leader with expertise in developing and launching strategic initiatives and activities at country level.

Project management & implementation. Proven organizational design and process skills and successful in dynamically managing a sales and marketing organization, to optimize market conditions, serve new types of customers, and support and service new product types.

Experience and familiarity with regulatory processes, complaints and compliance.

Ability to negotiate and build rapport with high level decision makers of prospective customers.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

An exceptional leader who can clearly articulate, motivate and develop all people under his or her leadership.

Fluent in written and spoken English language.

Ability to travel 30-50% of the time
