Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Supply Chain Japan to lead all aspects of Product Supply, Logistics, and Operational Excellence in Japan.

This role oversees end-to-end supply chain - Demand & Supply Planning, Logistics, Distribution, Warehousing, Purchasing, and Value-Added Operations - and plays a critical role in enabling the next phase of rapid growth.

As a key member of the Japan Leadership Team, this position offers significant visibility and influence, driving both strategic direction and hands-on execution across the organization.

You will partner closely with Sales and Marketing to align demand, optimize inventory, and deliver best-in-class customer experience—while continuously improving cost efficiency and operational agility.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

As the leader of Supply Chain in Japan, you will have full ownership of supply chain performance and transformation, including:

1. Business Impact & Strategy

Own and deliver financial targets and KPIs across forecasting, logistics, inventory, and cost management

Develop and execute annual and mid-term supply chain strategies aligned with business growth

2. Supply Chain Excellence

Optimize inventory, cost, and service levels to achieve near zero out-of-stock while improving efficiency

Elevate demand forecasting accuracy through deep collaboration with Sales & Marketing

Lead continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and operations

3. Logistics & Vendor Management

Lead selection, negotiation, and performance management of logistics and operations partners

Enhance service quality while driving cost optimization

Oversee all customs-related processes and compliance in Japan

4. End-to-End Operations Control

Partner with local plant teams on production planning (refilling, retesting, reverse logistics, etc.)

Ensure seamless coordination across supply, inventory, and distribution flows

Continuously improve ERP and data systems for faster, more accurate reporting

5. Leadership & Organization Development

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing and engaged Supply Chain team

Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

Coach and grow future leaders within the organization

6. Global Collaboration

Actively collaborate with global supply chain teams to implement global initiatives

Share best practices and lead cross-regional projects or task forces when required

Qualifications:

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

10+ years of experience in supply chain / operations leadership roles within manufacturing or FMCG

Proven track record in leading end-to-end supply chain functions and delivering business impact

Core Competencies

Strong strategic thinking combined with a hands-on execution mindset

High level of ownership, energy, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Proven leadership capability with strong people engagement and team development skills

Ability to manage complexity and multiple priorities under tight deadlines

Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of financial drivers

Technical Skills

Strong IT literacy (ERP, data analysis, planning systems experience preferred)

Language

Business-level English (fluency required)

Education

Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree is a plus)
