Business Segment
Payments: A Swift-accredited service bureau and member, our Payments division provides NGOs, institutions and non-profits the ability to make a local difference, globally – with transparent pricing across 180+ countries and 140+ currencies.
Responsibilities:
Position Purpose: The Business Analyst role in the StoneX Global Payments business is essential to ensure effective requirement management, structured backlog creation, and seamless product delivery aligned with the product owner’s vision. As StoneX undergoes a critical phase of consolidating internal applications and standardizing new platforms, the need for a strong BA function becomes even more important. The role serves as a key enabler in prioritizing product requirements, simplifying complex solutions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable products.
Responsibilities– The Business Analyst will support the delivery of global payments solutions by gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements into actionable stories. The role focuses on cross-border payments processing, SWIFT messaging (MT/MX), and statement reconciliation, ensuring accurate, scalable, and compliant solutions
Primary duties will include :
Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for payment and reconciliation systems
Convert requirements into structured user stories with clear acceptance criteria
Maintain and groom the product backlog aligned with product priorities
Analyze and map SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messages across systems
Work with bank statements (MT940/950, CAMT.053) and reconciliation logic
Translating complex payment flows into clear functional solutions
Support UAT, defect triage, and validation of MT/MX outputs

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of:
Strong understanding of Cross-border payments and correspondent banking, Payment lifecycle and settlement concepts.
SWIFT messaging: MT (MT103, MT202, MT9XX) and MX (ISO 20022 – PACS, CAMT)
Payment lifecycle and settlement concepts
Requirement gathering and documentation
User story writing (preferably Agile/Scrum)
Data analysis and mapping (good with Excel)
APIs / file-based integrations
Strong communication and stakeholder management
Analytical thinking and problem-solving
