About the role

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer

In this role, you will:

Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications

Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure

Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals

Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future

Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors

Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices

Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements

Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success

Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results

Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Interact with customer and vendor

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Experience hands‑on experience with Python for automation and scripting

Experience with Red Hat Ansible, including playbook and role development

Experience with YAML, including writing and maintaining structured configuration and automation code

Experience developing and consuming APIs, including integrating automation with enterprise systems

Demonstrated experience leading technical teams or projects in automation engineering

Proven ability to set technical direction and influence best practices in Ansible and Python development

Solid understanding of relational database architectures and infrastructure concepts

Proven ability to troubleshoot complex code‑related issues across automation workflows

Experience in building and scaling automation teams or communities of practice

Exposure in GenAI technologies (LLMs, RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, LangChain/LlamaIndex)

Prior experience in a lead or principal engineering role within enterprise environments

Experience developing or supporting automation frameworks or internal platforms

Experience with GUI‑based automation or tooling

Experience using Git for source control

Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)

Expertise with CI/CD (GitHub, Jenkins, pipelines-as-code) and SDLC automation.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative enterprise environment while also operating independently

Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives

Job Expectations:

Strong years of experience including Platform Engineering, Testing Automation as well as Frameworks design and management within Platform Organizations

Should have strong years of development and engineering experience for both UI and API modules.

Experience with Microservices and Cloud technologies

Fully well versed with CICD Pipeline onboarding process including adoption of control gates such Code Quality leveraging Sonar and Test automation tools

Keep abreast with new tools / technologies and providing recommendations for process improvements

Must have ability to develop understanding of the application architecture

Must have attention to detail, a commitment to Quality and be business focused.

Strong presentation and training skills.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have strong time management skills.

Understanding current challenges and being able to prioritize strategic initiatives to improve operational support
