You will work with:

You will be part of the central Salesforce platform team responsible for the safe, secure, reliable and compliant running of the strategic Salesforce orgs in bp. You will collaborate with the teams responsible for delivering Salesforce related projects. You will be responsible for developing high quality products with a customer focus, contributing to best practices, advocating reusability, in a secure, reliable and scalable way, consumed by the Salesforce developer communities in bp.

What the role will be:

As a Salesforce Platform Architect at bp, you will be the pivotal technical expert in driving enterprise architecture strategy across our business and performance platforms. You will work closely with digital security and enterprise platform teams to embed modern, scalable application design, with a strong focus on Salesforce platforms. This is a hands-on architecture role where you will lead by doing, influence engineering and design communities, and contribute to our most strategic technology initiatives. You will collaborate with multiple delivery project teams responsible for delivering related solutions and safeguarding the Salesforce platform. You play a critical role in driving innovation and ensuring the optimal performance and resilience of our Salesforce strategic orgs.

Job Responsibilities

Architecture Leadership: Develop and maintain enterprise-level architecture roadmaps and reference models for Salesforce and related business process management platforms. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, fostering agility core practices and effective systems development management.

Hands-On Design & Delivery: Architect, design, and guide the delivery of scalable, secure, and modern applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise and digital security standards focused on the Salesforce platform.

Developer Enablement: Create tools and patterns to improve the developer experience and productivity across Salesforce and full-stack technologies.

Innovation & Continuous Learning: Proactively evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations that support business agility and long-term strategic goals.

Safety & Compliance: Advocate for and integrate operational safety and digital security principles in all architectural decisions. Ensure the security, integrity, and compliance of Salesforce solutions through robust information assurance practices.

Operational Excellence: Manage IT aspects related to Salesforce operations, ensuring high availability, resilience, and efficient service operations. Develop and maintain technical documentation, architectural blueprints, and design specifications.

Job Qualifications**

Extensive experience, 10+ years, as a Salesforce Platform Architect or in a similar senior architectural role.

Demonstrable expertise in Salesforce platform capabilities, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Lightning Platform. Data Cloud experience is a plus

Solid background in Salesforce related tools (Journey Builder, AMPScript, APEX, SOQL), backend development (JavaScript, HTML/CSS), security (OAuth, SAML) and integration (REST and SOAP API)

Experience with Salesforce DX, version control (e.g., Git), and deployment automation tools .

Strong understanding of business modeling techniques and their application to Salesforce solutions.

A track record of fostering creativity and innovation in technology solutions.

Proficiency in data analysis and data design principles.

Experience with emerging technology monitoring and adoption.

Understanding of risk, compliance, and security practices, ensuring all architectures support safe, robust digital operations for Salesforce platforms.

Expertise in various integration patterns and technologies for Salesforce.

Familiarity with IT management principles and IT strategy and planning.

Strong background in service operations and resilience planning for enterprise applications.

Excellent solution architecture skills, including the ability to design scalable and maintainable systems.

Proficiency in user experience analysis and design thinking.

Salesforce Architect certifications (e.g., Application Architect, System Architect, Technical Architect) are highly desirable.
