Overview of Role

We are hiring a contract Project Manager for a public client. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior ICT Project Manager to plan, manage, and deliver projects in line with organisational priorities, governance standards, and the ICT roadmap.

The role will include risk management, quality assurance, and resolving technical and operational challenges to the delivery of ICT Projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate new Business ICT demands through a Demand Management Process.

Direct and manage all stages of Project delivery from planning to completion.

Plan and design Projects and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.

Deliver progress reports and continually manage project resource allocations.

Ensure that the delivery from projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the ICT roadmap.

Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and business areas.

Initiate extra activities and interventions wherever gaps in projects are identified or issues arise.

Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of projects.

Manage portfolio of projects and change, providing reporting on progress of same to the relevant Governance teams, stakeholders and Owner.

Manage risk exposure on projects and ensure escalation models are followed.

Ensure that anticipated benefits are being realised as projects progress.

Ensure project documents including RAID logs are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

Work with the business management to transition projects to the new business as usual position.

Coordinate and oversee external ICT third-party delivery to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

Support and collaborate closely with the Senior Project Manager on project delivery.

Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications

Relevant qualification in Project Management.

Honours Bachelor Degree

Minimum of 5+ years Business Project experience in similar role within large organisation.

Experience with Agile methodologies / Scrum frameworks

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Teams and SharePoint, for project communication, collaboration, and document management.

Excellent Interpersonal Skills with ability to foster team harmony and collaboration.

Experience in dealing in a multi-vendor and cross functional team environment.

Strong organisational and planning skills

Strong decision-making ownership.

Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.

High level of personal integrity.
