We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead and manage logistics operations in the Netherlands market. This role will be responsible for end-to-end operational performance, including carrier management, service quality, cost control, and daily execution. The ideal candidate has strong experience in logistics or supply chain operations, is data-driven, and can work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders. Fluency in both English and Dutch is required.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day logistics operations in Amsterdam, ensuring service quality, efficiency, and scalability
Manage relationships with local carriers, warehouses, and logistics partners; monitor performance and drive continuous improvement
Optimize operational processes, cost structure, and service levels (lead time, delivery success rate, damage rate, etc.)
Coordinate closely with regional and central teams on planning, capacity, and operational strategy
Support new market initiatives, product launches, and operational setup in Amsterdam
Track and analyse key operational KPIs; provide regular reporting and actionable insights
Identify risks and operational bottlenecks, and implement mitigation plans
Manage local vendors and support contract negotiation and performance management
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, preferably in e-commerce or parcel delivery
Strong understanding of last-mile logistics, carrier management, and operational planning
Proven experience in managing external partners and driving operational performance
Fluent proficiency in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrable experience within European logistics markets, with particular expertise in Amsterdam.
Proven track record in scaling operations and/or successfully launching new logistics programmes.
Strong knowledge of e-commerce logistics, including 3PL and 4PL models, as well as cross-border logistics operations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a cross-cultural environment
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-impact environment
