Supporting the Policy, Strategy and Governance Division, this role provides the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and play a key role in finance business partnering, with a strong focus on communication, influence and stakeholder engagement.

About You

We are seeking a qualified finance professional with demonstrated management accounting experience in a complex commercial or public sector environment. You will bring:

Strong verbal presence and presentation skills, with the ability to lead conversations, challenge constructively and drive outcomes

Strong capability in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and management reporting

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and data integrity

Exceptional and highly developed communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, concise and compelling insights for diverse audiences

A proven ability to engage, influence and build trust with senior stakeholders, confidently leading discussions and shaping decisions

Advanced writing skills, delivering clear, professional and well-structured reports, briefings and financial commentary

Sound understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance requirements

A collaborative approach, with accountability and ownership of deliverables

A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance, along with CA/CPA accreditation (or working towards), is required.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver clear, concise and impactful financial reporting and insights to support informed decision-making

Effectively communicate financial performance, risks and opportunities, tailoring messages to senior executives and non-financial stakeholders

Lead and facilitate discussions with stakeholders, providing trusted advice and influencing outcomes through strong communication

Maintain and enhance financial governance, controls and compliance in line with accounting standards and NSW Treasury requirements

Provide technical advice and lead financial submissions, ensuring clarity, accuracy and alignment with organizational and statutory objectives
