The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role
The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing accounts, budgeting and managing financial information. The role also involves supporting the Finance Director in overseeing FGJV’s finance functions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance or a related field
CA or CPA Qualification
White Card
Experience
Prior experience within a construction or infrastructure environment is preferred
Hands-on experience in Accounts Payable processes
Required Competencies
Demonstrates strong computer literacy and advanced capabilities across Microsoft Office Suite, with particular strength in Excel.
Familiarity with SAP or other large ERP systems
Knowledge of Australian finance standards
Banking system knowledge
Sound problem solving skills
Strong initiative and proactive nature
Key collaborative skills
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
Sound time management skills
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Assist the Accounts and Cost Control functions and authorisations.
Assist with variance analysis across budgets, general ledger, and project reporting.
Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
Support the enhancement of management information systems and reporting frameworks.
Contribute to improvements in internal controls and procedures.
Monitor record-keeping practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Liaise with external auditors as needed to support audit processes.
Provide financial insights and support to internal stakeholders.
Conduct job costing analysis to aid project financial oversight.
Assist with general accounting operations and tasks.
Help maintain internal audit functions and reinforce control measures.
