Role Description:

We’re looking for an experienced Cost and Finance Analyst to join a high-performing team within the Collaborative and Autonomous Systems Project Office (CASPO) supporting the delivery of project AIR6015 Air Autonomous Collaborative Platforms and the MQ-28 Ghost Bat capability.

In this role, you will support project execution by providing a specialist financial forecasting, modelling, and analysis skillset, helping to manage a critical program and shape long term investment decisions. You’ll work in a highly collaborative, integrated environment while operating with autonomy and influence, partnering with project stakeholders across Defence and Industry.

Day to day tasks include:

Support the financial management of a major Defence project, including the management of project forecasts, cost estimates, and cost models.

Analyse cost drivers, trends, and variances to provide clear, actionable financial insights

Provide trusted financial and commercial advice to project teams, senior leaders, and stakeholders

Contribute to procurement activities, including financial analysis for proposals and tender processes

Ensure alignment with Defence financial frameworks, policies, and governance requirements

Drive improvements in project financial management tools, processes, and reporting capability

Build strong working relationships to support high-quality, timely program outcomes

Essential Requirements:

5–7+ years’ experience in cost estimation, financial modelling, or forecasting within Defence, government, or complex project environments

Strong understanding of Defence financial management, costing frameworks, and procurement processes

Proven experience in financial forecasting and communicating financial insights for large-scale programs.

Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formula development, modelling, and forecasting and data visualisation

Desirable experience with data visualisation and business intelligence reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI).

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data

Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and industry partners

Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure

High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, governance, and data integrity

Australian Citizenship and NV1 Security Clearance essential

Required Security Clearance Level: Active NV1 Clearance.

Location: Amberley QLD.

Weekly Hours: Monday to Friday / 40 hours per week, with options for work from home on Friday's - depending on task requirements
