About the role:

This position is a Fixed-Term, Full- time role till 30/06/2028.

The Principal Analyst supports statewide productivity initiatives to identify performance variation and improvement opportunities across Victorian health services and peer groups. The role delivers high‑quality analysis, develops comparative insights, and partners with health services to interpret results and design targeted actions. By producing robust evidence, supporting capability uplift, and driving consistent measurement, the position strengthens sector‑wide financial sustainability and helps ensure resources are used effectively to support high‑quality care for all Victorians.

The Financial Improvement, Productivity & Capability team strengthens financial sustainability across Victorian health services by delivering benchmarking insights, optimising revenue, and leading targeted improvement projects.

About you:

Participates in strategic planning and contributes to strategic decision making process

Identifies and responds to new and emerging strategic issues impacting on the operating environment

Initiates and manages negotiations with peers (internal and external to work unit) to gain commitment to projects, and delivery of activities to meet timelines

Applies complex concepts drawn from non-related fields to address policy issues

Support the build and design of Hospitals Victoria, including driving progress on the division's operating model and workplan

Qualification/Specialist Expertise

A tertiary qualification in fields related to public health, public policy or health administration would be desirable.

Significant knowledge and experience in government, health systems and/or health service delivery would be desirable, with skills and experience in policy development and implementation.
