About the Role

As a Plant Metallurgist at Northparkes, you’ll be close to the action - working alongside operators, maintenance and technical teams to keep the plant performing at its best.

Reporting to the Senior Plant Metallurgist, you’ll play a key role in supporting production and driving continuous improvement across the processing operation.

This is a hands on role where you’ll troubleshoot real time issues, analyse plant performance and turn insights into practical improvements across crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering circuits. You’ll help shape operating strategies that maximise throughput, recovery and overall performance.

About You

You’re a Metallurgist or Process Engineer who enjoys understanding how things work and making them work better.

You like being in the plant, talking to operators, asking questions and solving problems. You’re practical, curious and motivated to keep learning.

You’ll bring:

A degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Mineral Processing

Exposure to processing operations (e.g. crushing, grinding or flotation)

A strong problem solving mindset and confidence working with data

The ability to build relationships across operations and technical teams

Experience with systems like PI or SAP will help, but it’s not essential. What matters most is your attitude - you’re proactive, open to feedback and keen to build your career in a role where you’ll be supported and trusted to make an impact.
