Your role:

As a Junior Tax Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with senior team members on a variety of tax files, assisting clients, and provide support to the tax team.

The successful candidate will assist in preparing tax returns, conducting research, and providing support for our clients' tax needs while gaining valuable experience in a professional accounting environment.

Assisting with the preparation of various Canadian income tax returns (T1, T2, T3) and tax election forms.

Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services and work products.

Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts.

Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management.

Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. Thoroughly and accurately analyze information.

Prepare practical and effective approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions.

Preparing corporate tax returns.

Share tax planning ideas with others.

Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals.

Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex areas.

What you bring to the table:

Accounting degree. E.g. BBA, BCOMM, or CPA designation.

Entry level technical knowledge and skills.

Knowledge of Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep would be an asset.

Interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Team player with a positive can-do approach.

Attention to detail.

Creative problem-solving ability and critical thinking

Seeks and researches solutions or answers.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in delivery of quality client service.

A general knowledge of firm's products and services.

A general understanding of industry and market trends including opportunities, global and local business initiatives and stakeholder/competitor interests.

A desire to dig deep into work, learn all they can and have fun!

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary range: $50,000 - $55,000 a year

This base salary is a guide, and successful candidates will be offered a rate of compensation based on a combination of factors including relevant experience, skills, education, and market alignment.
