Your Responsibilities

Technical leadership

Set direction and strategy for your team while ensuring individual contributors own the design and delivery of their work.

Establish a culture of engineering excellence and ownership with a high bar for quality, reliability, and speed.

Coach and grow your engineers, owning their technical development, performance, and career progression.

Work closely with recruiters and the leadership team to attract and hire high potential candidates.

Organization and delivery

Find knowledge and skill gaps on the team and actively close them through coaching, hiring, and structural changes.

Improve processes to increase speed and effectiveness of delivery, without adding bureaucracy.

Partner with executives and leads on decision making, program management, and execution.

Track complex dependencies across internal and external teams and keep delivery on course.

Shape the company's culture

5+ years working experience in software development and 2+ years of leadership experience, ideally in backend development and cloud platforms

Extensive experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams

Strong proficiency in backend development: Python, cloud (e.g. AWS), virtualization and containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), IaC (e.g. CDK), workflow orchestration (e.g. WS step functions), Observability (e.g. Datadog, Loki, Prometheus, Tempo, Grafana)

A leadership style built on ownership: you enable engineers to own design and delivery rather than owning it for them.

Experience in strategic technical cross team coordination and leadership

Ability to identify and track complex dependencies across multiple internal and external teams

A Short Note from Your Future Lead

Dr. Christian Buckl

CTO

Hi there!

I'm Christian Buckl, CTO at Entrix. My professional journey has been deeply rooted in the intersection of technology and industry spanning areas such as autonomous driving and cloud-based systems that serve millions of users. Over the years, I've had the privilege of contributing to various innovative projects and leading teams dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in our field.

At Lyft (2018–2024), I initially built the in-car middleware system for autonomous driving. Later, my team and I developed the in-house mapping stack—including the routing engine and estimated-time-of-arrival (ETA) system—powering millions of rides.

At Apple (2016–2018), I led a team in the Special Projects Group focused on autonomous systems.

At Siemens (2015–2016), I spearheaded software development for a startup within Siemens, creating a hardware/software platform for autonomous electric vehicles.

Before that, I was a founding member of fortiss, a non-profit research organization in Munich.

At Entrix, we believe that our success is built on the strength of our team. We foster a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where everyone can thrive and make a meaningful impact. Having spent over eight years working for Silicon Valley companies, I bring that experience to help shape our innovative culture.

If you're passionate about pioneering technological solutions and eager to be part of a dynamic and international team, I encourage you to explore the opportunities we offer. Together, we can drive innovation and achieve remarkable milestones.

Thank you for considering a future with us. I look forward to the possibility of working together to shape the future of technology,

Christian
