ETL Developer and Support Engineer (Ingeniero de Desarrollo y Soporte ETL)

Location: Mexico (Monterrey, Mexico City, Guadalajara) – Hybrid as per Infosys Mexico policy (EST time)

Role Overview

As an ETL Developer and Support Engineer, you will design and develop ETL solutions using Informatica and SQL, ensuring data accuracy and performance. Manage deployments and provide production support, including monitoring, incident resolution, and root cause analysis, while meeting SLAs and collaborating with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize ETL pipelines in Informatica (including CDC/SCD) with robust SQL and performance tuning.

Ensure data quality and reliability through thorough requirements, profiling, validation, and controlled deployments across environments.

Lead production support monitoring jobs, resolve incidents within SLAs, perform RCA, and communicate status with stakeholders/vendors.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field.

6+ years of IT experience.

Bilingual (Spanish & English) – strong verbal and written communication.

Mandatory Skills

Development:

At least 6 years of IT experience in business analysis, requirement elicitation and documentation while working on Informatica PowerCenter 9.x, 10.x.

Understanding the change data capture (CDC), slowly changing dimensions (SCD), Data Profiling and Data validation concepts.

Experience in estimating ETL requirements, designing and architecting integration solutions.

Tracking issues and requirements using Jira or a similar tool.

Good knowledge in designing and developing ETL mappings using Informatica PowerCenter.

Efficient in coding and understanding the deliverables.

Knowledge in performance tuning and optimization.

Build advanced stored procedures or queries using PL/SQL and Transact SQL.

Understanding configuration, migration and deployment of ETL mappings.

Production Support:

At least 2 years of production support experience.

Production Support Lead for a BI project using Informatica / PL-SQL / AUTOSYS.

Maintain and own bug management and incident resolution process.

Resolve bugs within defined service levels.

Debug, troubleshoot, root cause analysis and resolve issues within SLA.

Monitoring processes using any Job Orchestration Tool like (CA Workload Automation, HCL Workload Automation or Control-M).

Communicate with stakeholders in case of delays or SLA breaches.

Use of IT Service Management tools for incident management, change management or request fulfillment tracking like HP Service Management, BMC Helix, ServiceNow.

Resolve complex bugs with long term fixes following BI best practices and collaborate with BI team for solution review of complex bugs and incident resolution.

Follow up with third party vendors for issue resolution and prevention.
