We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager (M/F/D) to join our Care Chemicals business unit, supporting our EMEA Crop Solutions portfolio. Based in Barcelona, Spain, you will serve as the primary point of contact for key Heart/Belly customers — managing and growing strategic accounts while delivering an exceptional end-to-end customer experience. Reporting to the Head of EMEA – Crop Solutions, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the region.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with customer procurement and key decision-makers to ensure long-term partnership and satisfaction
Drive revenue growth by expanding share of wallet through proactive participation in bids and tenders
Identify and mitigate churn risks, implementing strategic measures to retain and grow accounts
Lead contract negotiations and manage pricing agreements and overdue accounts
Develop and apply customer demand insights to anticipate needs and shape tailored commercial approaches
Maintain accurate, up-to-date CRM records and manage a healthy New Business Development (NBD) pipeline in collaboration with the Business Development team
Deliver accurate and timely sales forecasts to support regional planning and resource allocation
Coordinate seamlessly across a cross-functional team — including Customer Service Managers (CSM), Business Development (BD), Customer Solutions Development (CSD), and GBS — to ensure full customer journey success
Represent Clariant's values and solutions portfolio with professionalism, inspiring confidence and trust at every customer touchpoint
Requirements
Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agronomy, Business (e.g., Marketing), or a related field
Minimum 5 years of commercial experience with a well-rounded understanding of research, application development, marketing, and sales
Proven track record in account management, ideally within the specialty chemicals or crop solutions industry
Strong business acumen and commercial creativity, with a clear ability to identify and capture growth opportunities
Demonstrated sales drive and achievement motivation with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding targets
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire customer confidence and build lasting relationships
High adaptability, resilience, and agility to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced commercial environment
Collaborative mindset with the ability to coordinate and align multiple internal stakeholders effectively
Proficiency in CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite
Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable — taking ownership of outcomes and continuously seeking improvement
