Role Description:
We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer with specialized experience in cloud storage solutions to join our infrastructure team. This position requires 3-5 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing AWS storage services in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Storage Architecture & Design
Design and implement scalable storage solutions using AWS services including S3, EBS, EFS, FSx, and Storage Gateway
Develop storage strategies that optimize performance, cost, and data lifecycle management
Create and maintain storage architecture documentation and best practices
Infrastructure Management
Deploy and manage AWS storage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Monitor storage performance, capacity, and costs using CloudWatch and third-party tools
Implement automated backup and disaster recovery solutions
Manage data migration projects between on-premises and cloud environments
Security & Compliance
Implement storage security best practices including encryption at rest and in transit
Configure IAM policies and access controls for storage resources
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Conduct regular security assessments and remediation
Optimization & Troubleshooting
Analyze storage usage patterns and implement cost optimization strategies
Troubleshoot storage performance issues and implement solutions
Optimize data transfer and access patterns for improved application performance
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
Technical Skills
3-5 years of experience with AWS cloud services, specifically storage solutions
Proficiency with AWS storage services: S3, EBS, EFS, FSx, Storage Gateway, DataSync
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
Strong understanding of networking concepts and VPC configuration
Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery and life-cycle management strategies
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail)
Certifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (required)
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (preferred)
Additional AWS specialty certifications in storage or security (plus)
General Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Experience with version control systems (Git)
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with hybrid cloud storage solutions
Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks
Familiarity with containerization technologies (Rancher, Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with database storage optimization
Previous experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role

base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, corporate and functional title and duties, job-related knowledge and advanced degrees, skills, and experience.
