The Oncology Diagnostic Manager (ODM) will leverage current diagnostic market and clinical test market experience that will make an impact within a large, global pharmaceutical company.
The ODM ensures the timely, high quality in-market companion diagnostics / testing solutions to enable optimal treatment throughout the patient journey. An important element of this role is therefore to work collaboratively with the cross functional field teams and execute on tactical plans with an understanding of clinical operational issues on the testing pathway developing tailored testing solutions as needed.
Typical Accountabilities
Identify and develop relationships with scientific experts: Laboratory decision makers, Oncologists, Pathologists and Molecular Pathologists
Share appropriate, approved, educational information on diagnostics to the heads of clinical Laboratories and their staff
Deliver highly technical data presentations
Educate on the need for diagnostic quality assurance (QA) programmes
Identify barriers to testing through partnerships with diagnostic companies, lab networks, and Health Care Professionals (HCPs). Develop strategies to support and educate on appropriate testing
Adhere to the AZ Code of Conduct, the market Policy Handbook, Standards, and SOPs as well as comply with all regulatory and compliance requirements for the role
Essential
Undergraduate degree; preferably an Advanced degree in life sciences, medical or pharmacy degree
3-5 years of experience in diagnostic market and clinical testing market; preferably Oncology experience
Expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
Project management experience
Ability to travel (percentage varies with geography)
Desirable
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Proven experience with a broad base of external customers including patients, prescribers, payors, providers
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Thorough knowledge of diagnostic test regulatory environment
Proven demonstration of effective cross-functional leadership
Ability to travel with geographic territory (percentage varies with geography)
