Job Description

The Project Manager manages complex client projects across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and emerging technology domains. Project management responsibilities include end-to-end coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope while integrating security best practices and AI-driven methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.

This role oversees all aspects of large-scale technology projects, sets strategic deadlines, assigns responsibilities across cross-functional teams, and monitors progress toward successful delivery. The Project Manager leads technical teams to develop comprehensive project execution plans and is accountable for customer satisfaction (CSAT), resource scheduling, project tracking, risk management, delivery quality, financial management (P&L) and cross-team collaboration.

When involved in engagements, the Project Manager leads and articulates the project management framework and methodology that meets customer requirements. This includes preparing engagement materials (project delivery sections, statements of work, assumptions, risk mitigation strategies), presenting project delivery scope and value propositions, responding to project clarification queries and facilitating governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Execution (~70%)

Lead end-to-end delivery of complex IT infrastructure, security and technology transformation projects from initiation through closure, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk

Develop comprehensive project plans, milestones, risk registers, governance frameworks, and change management strategies in consultation with stakeholders, business users, architects and technical teams

Manage daily project execution including deployment, migration, testing, integration and implementation activities

Control project scope and implement robust change control mechanisms to manage dependencies and critical paths ensuring timely delivery

Oversee project financials including profit and loss (P&L), forecasting, budget compliance and resource allocation across internal teams, vendors and subcontractors

Coordinate procurement / integration of hardware, software, testing across stakeholder groups spanning business, technical and management domains

Proactively escalate issues such as project overruns, scope creep, integration challenges and resource constraints to project directors and steering committees

Review and ensure all project documentation complies with customer requirements, quality management processes, industry standards and regulatory procedures

Define project resource needs (hardware, software, human resources, logistics), conduct activity progress reviews and execute implementation evaluations

Lead team planning, task delegation, performance tracking, coaching, mentoring and performance management activities

Perform proactive review of contracted services in accordance with KPIs and compliance requirements toward completion criteria with zero negative client experience

Support business development efforts through opportunity identification, change request development, and active participation in pre-sales activities

IT Security (~30%)

Manage deployment and integration of enterprise security technologies including firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection and related infrastructure

Ensure project compliance with client cybersecurity policies, industry frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls) and governance requirements throughout the project lifecycle

Coordinate vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, patch management programs, and remediation tracking with security project members

Support security incident response coordination, stakeholder communication, and recovery planning during project implementation phases

Coordinate advice from technical members on infrastructure security architecture, system hardening and secure configuration management considerations

Collaborate closely with Security Operations (SecOps) teams to ensure deployed solutions are secure, supportable and aligned with security operations workflows

Promote security awareness, best practices, and security-by-design principles within project teams and throughout client engagements

Integrate security checkpoints and validation gates into project delivery methodologies

AI & Emerging Technology Integration

Leverage AI-powered project management tools to enhance planning, forecasting, risk prediction and decision-making capabilities

Stay current with AI trends, tools, and applications relevant to project management and cybersecurity domains

Promote AI literacy and adoption within project teams and client organizations

Customer & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary focal point for all project-related matters, engaging effectively with clients and internal stakeholders at all organizational levels

Prepare and present high-quality materials suitable for project steering committees, executive briefings and governance forums

Build and maintain strong relationships with users, technical staff and management to resolve implementation issues and drive continuous improvement

Negotiate with vendors, cross-functional teams and subcontractors to secure resources and manage contracts effectively

Negotiate change requests with customers, balancing effort, schedule and project priorities

Communicate project issues, risks, opportunities, and clarifications openly, clearly and proactively with customers and stakeholders

Maintain excellent communication plans with clients and project teams in accordance with contractual and departmental requirements

Actively solicit and achieve customer satisfaction (CSAT) through relationship management and service excellence

Transition & Continuous Improvement

Perform comprehensive project transition activities, review documentation thoroughly, and initiate proper handover from Day 1 project closure to maintenance and managed services teams

Proactively identify opportunities for change requests, service expansion, enhancement, or improvement of services delivered to customers

Liaise with account managers and sales teams to develop new business opportunities and support revenue growth

When involved in engagement activities, support sales by providing proposal materials (SoW, assumptions, manpower sizing, PM strategy and methods, risk mitigation), presentations, response clarifications and technical input

Team Leadership & Development

Coordinate with team members, team leaders and cross-functional resources to ensure task and deliverable timelines are met consistently

Plan, track and monitor tasks for technical team leaders and members using appropriate project management tools and methodologies

Delegate effectively with clear instructions, goals, success criteria and accountability measures

Provide project leadership to analyse and evaluate project proposals and enhancements

Keep project teams informed about business needs, priorities, existing systems and organizational changes

Engage in project leadership activities including providing constructive project feedback, coaching, mentoring and development support

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalence required

Additional certifications in cybersecurity (CISSP, CISM, CEH) or infrastructure (ITIL, cloud certifications) are highly valued

Minimum 8 years of IT project management experience, with substantial focus on infrastructure and/or cybersecurity projects

Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex technology projects involving deployment, migration, integration and transformation across diverse organizational environments

Extensive experience in implementation of IT projects across various industries and client organizations

Good experience managing IT contracts and complex implementation projects in both legacy and cloud managed service environments

Demonstrated experience leading multiple projects through scope/discovery, estimation, implementation, troubleshooting, recovering challenged projects

Experience managing cross-functional teams, vendors, subcontractors and third-party service providers in multi-stakeholder environments

Strong project management competencies: planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, change control, governance and quality assurance

Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure domains including networks, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud platforms, and data centers. Solid understanding of security technologies and practices: firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, vulnerability management, incident response, penetration testing, OS hardening and security frameworks

Proficiency in project management software tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, and collaboration platforms

Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting, analysis, and presentation development

Excellent client management, communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Strong leadership, team coordination, coaching and mentoring capabilities

Exceptional relationship and stakeholder management skills—capable of dealing effectively with people across all organizational levels in fast-moving organizations undergoing constant transformation

Self-motivated with a positive "can-do" attitude, highly organized, and able to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines

Creative problem-solver with the ability to develop high-quality presentations by synthesizing key information, financial data and relevant details

Willing to travel as required to client sites, project locations and business meetings

Experience as a technical lead or solution architect in migration, security deployment, or infrastructure transformation projects

Experience working in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, government, homeland security, defence)

Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies will be added value
