About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Product Manager, Payments API to lead the strategy, development, and commercialization of our payment infrastructure products. This role will be responsible for building and scaling API-driven payment solutions that enable enterprises, fintechs, platforms, and financial institutions to seamlessly integrate payment capabilities into their ecosystems.
The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of payment systems, API products, fintech infrastructure, and developer experience, with a proven track record of delivering scalable, reliable, and commercially successful payment products.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Payments API products.
Identify market opportunities and customer needs across collections, payouts, virtual accounts, card payments, wallet integrations, and cross-border payment services.
Drive product innovation by monitoring industry trends, emerging payment technologies, and regulatory developments.
Develop business cases and prioritize initiatives based on customer impact, revenue potential, and strategic objectives.
Product Development
Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation, requirements gathering, development, launch, and ongoing optimization.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Architecture, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Business teams to deliver scalable payment solutions.
Translate business requirements into detailed product specifications, user stories, API requirements, and technical documentation.
Define API standards, developer experience requirements, authentication frameworks, and integration best practices.
Ensure product scalability, reliability, security, and regulatory compliance.
Payments Infrastructure Management
Manage core payment capabilities including:Payment collectionsMerchant acquiringPayment gateway servicesVirtual accountsDomestic and cross-border payoutsReal-time payment railsWallet integrationsCard issuing and acquiring integrationsFX and settlement workflows
Work closely with banking, payment scheme, and financial institution partners to payment capabilities.
Stakeholder & Customer Management
Engage directly with enterprise clients, fintech partners, and developers to gather feedback and understand integration requirements.
Partner with Sales and Business Development teams during client engagements, solution design discussions, and strategic opportunities.
Support pre-sales activities by providing product expertise and API solution consultation.
Act as the internal subject matter expert for payment APIs and infrastructure products.
Product Performance & Analytics
Define and track key product metrics including:API adoptionTransaction volumePayment success ratesProcessing latencyRevenue contributionCustomer retention
Continuously optimize products based on customer feedback, market demand, and performance analytics.
Requirements
Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or related disciplines.
5–8+ years of Product Management experience within fintech, payments, banking, or financial infrastructure environments.
Proven experience managing API-first products and developer-focused platforms.
Strong understanding of payment ecosystems and transaction processing flows.
Experience working with payment gateways, acquiring banks, payment processors, card networks, or payment orchestration platforms.
Familiarity with domestic and international payment rails.
Technical Knowledge

Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, and technical stakeholders.
