About the role
This role exists to define, standardize, and evolve the enterprise middleware and integration architecture to support growing digital, partner, and internal platform demands. As systems scale in volume and complexity, the organization requires a cohesive architecture that ensures reliability, security, and reuse across services and integrations. The role provides technical leadership to align business requirements with cloud-native, API-driven solutions while reducing operational risk and complexity.
Accountabilities: Areas this person needs to own
1. Enterprise middleware and integration architecture strategy.
2. API and microservices architecture governance.
3. Platform scalability, resilience, and non-functional standards.
4. Security, compliance, and architectural best practices.
5. Technical leadership and cross-team alignment.
Responsibilities:
1. Define and maintain reference architectures, design standards, and patterns for middleware, APIs, and distributed systems.
2. Architect cloud-native, containerized services and integration solutions that are scalable, secure, and highly available.
3. Govern API lifecycle management, including design guidelines, versioning strategies, traffic management, and consumption models.
4. Collaborate with DevOps, security, and operations teams to ensure observability, automation, and platform readiness for production workloads.
5. Provide architectural guidance, conduct design reviews, and mentor engineering teams while engaging stakeholders and vendors as required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) with hands‑on experience building backend services
Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
Experience with microservices architecture and service‑to‑service communication
Strong knowledge of concurrency , goroutines , and channels in Go
Proficiency in SQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)
Experience with containerization (Docker) and basic Kubernetes concepts
Familiarity with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices
Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code (unit and integration testing)
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of event‑driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, etc.)
Experience with API gateways , service meshes, or reverse proxies
Familiarity with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing – Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
Prior experience supporting high‑availability or high‑throughput systems
Exposure to DevOps practices and production troubleshooting
