Job Summary
we are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the school's financial operations and contribute to its long-term growth and sustainability. The CFO will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, compliance, risk management, treasury, audits, and providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. The role requires a strong understanding of educational institution finances, governance, and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the school's financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
Partner with the CEO, Board, and senior leadership team on strategic planning and decision-making.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Lead long-term financial planning and capital expenditure strategies.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
Monitor budget utilization and variance analysis.
Establish financial controls and reporting mechanisms.
Present periodic financial reports to management and governing bodies.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Oversee accounting operations, financial statements, and management reporting.
Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures.
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Supervise finance, accounts, payroll, and procurement functions.
Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Develop and maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.
Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
Monitor cash flow, working capital, investments, and fund utilization.
Optimize financial resources and cost structures.
Oversee banking operations and financial risk management.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team.
Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Implement best practices in financial management and reporting.
Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
MBA (Finance) preferred.
15+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Experience in education, international schools, large institutions, or service organizations is preferred.
