Design Engineer - Plant D
About the role
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain product designs, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Support new product development (NPD/NPDI) activities from concept through production release.
Collaborate with Manufacturing and Operations teams to improve product manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.
Perform engineering analysis, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with performance and reliability requirements.
Lead or support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and product improvement initiatives.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for design, manufacturing, or field-related issues.
Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to evaluate components, materials, and technical solutions.
Support project timelines, deliverables, and documentation requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Vertiv Operating System (VOS).
Provide technical expertise during product reviews, customer discussions, and cross-functional projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Experience in product design, manufacturing engineering, or new product development.
Knowledge of CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and global teams.
Preferred Experience
Data center infrastructure, switchgear, or related industries.
New Product Introduction (NPDI).
Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Engineering Change Management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
