The Opportunity

We are looking for a forward-looking Technology Director Benelux to lead the regional technology agenda across operations, delivery, governance, and continuous improvement as a true business enabler.

This role is both strategic and operational, requiring a leader who can define direction while ensuring execution. You will shape the future of technology within the region and directly influence business performance, efficiency, and growth.

It combines strong IT leadership with a clear focus on how technology can create business value—through modernization, digital enablement, automation, data, and AI applied in practical ways that improve performance, resilience, and growth. You will help ensure a secure, reliable, and efficient IT foundation while partnering closely with business leaders and Global IT to shape priorities, unlock opportunities, and translate strategy into tangible outcomes.

You will work closely with business leaders and Global IT to manage day-to-day performance, strengthen governance, develop the team, and deliver the roadmap for the market. At the same time, you will act as an enabler and bridge between business ambition and technology execution—helping to identify opportunities to simplify processes, increase productivity, improve customer and colleague outcomes, and support sustainable business growth through technology.

Role Overview

As Technology Director, you hold end-to-end accountability for IT across the Benelux region, including strategy, operations, governance, and transformation initiatives.

You work closely with business leadership and global IT to ensure alignment between strategic priorities and operational delivery.

Reporting line: [CIO / Managing Director Benelux]

Scope: Multi-country (NL & BE)

Leadership: Internal teams + external partners/vendors

Environment: International matrix organization

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Transformation

Define and execute the Benelux IT strategy aligned with business goals

Translate corporate strategy into actionable roadmaps and investment priorities

Lead digital transformation initiatives (cloud, data, automation, AI)

Operations & Delivery

Oversee IT operations, service delivery, and project execution

Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of IT services

Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence

Governance, Risk & Security

Establish robust governance frameworks and compliance standards

Ensure strong cybersecurity posture and risk management

Manage budgets (multi-million € scope) with focus on value creation

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams

Manage strategic vendors and partners

Act as trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders

Navigate complex stakeholder landscapes within a matrix structure

Success Profile (First 12 Months)

Defined and implemented a clear, business-aligned IT roadmap

Delivered measurable improvements in service levels and operational efficiency

Initiated or completed key modernization programs

Strengthened alignment between business and IT

Achieved cost optimization and/or value creation initiatives

Your Profile

You are a senior technology leader with strong experience in corporate IT, ideally in a fast-paced environment. You combine strategic thinking with operational delivery and can lead both day-to-day IT performance and longer-term development in a matrix organization. You know how to work across business and technology teams, influence senior stakeholders, and bring structure, energy, and direction to ongoing change. Experience with digital innovation, automation, or AI-enabled improvement is an advantage.

Experience

Senior leadership experience in IT, digital transformation, or business technology

Proven track record in leading complex, multi-entity IT environments

Experience managing P&L / budgets, vendors, and performance

Capabilities

Strong strategic thinking combined with execution power

Exceptional stakeholder management at senior and executive level

Solid expertise in IT governance, risk, and cybersecurity

Vision on digital innovation (data, automation, AI)
