We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist to join ICON’s bioanalytical laboratory in Assen. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality bioanalytical data to support early phase clinical trials and enable informed decision-making throughout drug development.

You will provide scientific leadership across assay development, validation, and sample analysis within a regulated environment, working closely with project managers, laboratory teams, and clients to deliver robust, compliant assays that support clinical development and improve patient outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing

Leading the development and optimization of LBA assays

Acting as a key scientific contact for clients during assay development

Partnering with Project Managers in supervising assay validation and client engagement

Reviewing and approving data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance

Driving troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical challenges

Driving continuous improvement and best practices within the laboratory

You Will Have / Be

Strong scientific background in bioanalysis, immunoassays, or related discipline

At least 5 years of experience in method development and assay validation within a GLP environment

Proven ability to independently lead assay development and solve complex technical challenges

Experience in client-facing roles, with confidence presenting scientific data and leading discussions

Strong understanding of regulatory standards and quality expectations

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to timelines
