About the role
This Propulsion Domain Applications Supervisor/People Leader is responsible to lead and direct the activities of the Mexico-based Propulsion Domain Applications team. The Applications team apply core catalogue components to the applications. Design the installation of core components and associated hardware to follow component SDS and installation guidelines. Release core components and associated hardware to the application. Validate the components as installed on the vehicle meet signoff and robustness criteria as cascaded in line with GPDS deliverables.
Engineering Degree. MS in Engineering preferred.
Strong English proficiency (Written, read and oral).
Good communication skills and capability in utilizing all communication tools
Data driven problems solving
Microsoft Office management (Word, Excel and Power Point, Project).
Knowledge of PT systems components and subsystem design, reliability, requirements, and futuring.
Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues, new ideas and clearly and effectively communicate to management.
Ability to cross-functional communication at all levels and be a reliable team player. • Demonstrated delivery of results.
Ability to balance objectives and resolve conflicts.
Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and follow-up
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing technologies.
Working knowledge of FMEA’s, 5D’s, six sigma methodology.
WERS & FEDEBOM expertise
FEDEWB expertise.
FMA process and deliverables (DFMEA, Quality History, Boundary Diagram, Internal & External SCCAF, Change point Analysis, etc.).
Basic 3D CAD knowledge in TCE/3DX).
CAE awareness (IPS, DIAS and Symsolid / Hypermesh).
Good understanding of module HW & SW release process and coordination
Proven GPDS experience from pre-PS stages to OKTB
Coordinate PMT efforts for vehicle / system / subsystem / component part development and release.
Provides engineering sign off for vehicles/systems delegated to FoM PD.
Provides technical guidance to the product development office for utilization of technical resources.
Knowledge in PT controls components historical events to robustly deliver new programs according to corresponding rqmts. Lead cross functional product development teams. Develop commodity business plans. Capture lessons learned and develop requirements and specifications Manage communication with suppliers and programs
Hands on troubleshooting vehicle and breadboard issues
Lead FMA documents review and robust delivery to meet program timing.
Manage FEDE DVP generation as per GPDS VPP timing, including milestone identification and test classification.
Oversee the integration of critical emissions sensors, including Oxygen (UEGO & CMS) , exhaust gas temperature (EGT), differential pressure, NOX and Particle matter (PM) sensors.
Lead & oversee the packaging design and integration of all the modules required to control powertrain components (i.e. engine, transmission, fuel pump, 4X4 or differential) within corresponding design validation.
Manage communication with suppliers to plan, execute production components and track design changes and required documentation.
Coordinate, track and monitor build events parts delivery and issue resolution for robust manufacturing production process compliance.
Approves engineering changes (Concerns / Notices / Alerts etc).
Establishes overall tone and priorities to ensure the GPDS deliverables requirements.
Ensures rapid response to customer’s field concerns on current product lines.
Manages resources across vehicle line consistent with business plan; takes a proactive role in fostering growth of all engineering personnel via career development, skills training, cross-functional assessment, ITDP, IDP , TMM, etc.
Ensures team is exploring design space in its entirety for new fully competitive designs to assure all alternatives have been explored and to verify designs are fully optimized for QCWF targets.
Ensures common / carry-over components are used whenever possible.
Ensures compatibility between components / systems to mating and adjacent systems.
Ensures completeness of assembly illustration sheets.
Ensures use of Engineering Focus Time to work on design, engineering analysis, innovation, and value chain.
Reviews existing benchmarking data and obtains new data as required to assure best possible design.
Signs-off on relevant Supplier Request for Engineering Approval (SREA)
Interfaces with VO as partners to ensure design for assembly.
Seek team development and growth by creating a career path for assigned team.
Stablish regular 1:1 with assigned team members, track status & deliver clear and honest feedback.
