Mechanical Designer

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Design mechanical components and assemblies for Commercial Refrigeration

Design and project manage New Product Development subsystems to ensure design meets performance and agency requirements

Support and lead process improvements, VAVE and quality improvement efforts

Ensure Kysor Warren/EPTA processes are followed, including Stage Gate (Integrated Development Process), Change Notices and other in-house processes

Work with cross-functional team to ensure projects are completed on time, including operations, marketing, sales and quality

Prepare design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval

Technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development

Project coordination responsibility of taking designs through the cross functional approval and change implementation from concept to production. Coordinate the efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technicians and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects.

Design and/or redesign products to develop new products, improve performance, and/or reduce cost while meeting regulatory requirements (UL, NSF, DOE)

Design products for Manufacturability, Assembly and Reliability

Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material

Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering

Requires at least 5 years of related Sheet Metal, glass, electro-mechanical or equivalent design experience

Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology

Solid knowledge of structural design and testing

Solid experience with SolidWorks, SolidEdge or similar CAD software

Microsoft Office products

Working knowledge of SAP or similar MRP

Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical documentation, CAD, BOM, Drawings, Material Data and other technical data.

Experience in the HVAC&R industry is a plus

Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English and Spanish

Sense of ownership & urgency with projects and work assignments

Experience working with glass and plastics a plus

This position work closely with the local teams in Queretaro, as well as teams in Columbus and Limana. They will also work cross-functionally with team members from Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Quality and Procurement.

This position reports to the R&D Senior Manager of Case Engineering.

Approximately 25% Travel is required as needed, primarily to the US.
