Job Overview

We are seeking a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to develop the growth of cleaning machinery sales across South Wales.

This role will focus on selling a range of professional cleaning equipment, particularly I-Team machines (e.g. floor scrubbers, sweepers, vacuum systems, and other janitorial machinery) to commercial customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing a pipeline of opportunities, conducting product demonstrations, and building long-term relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a regional sales strategy to grow cleaning machinery sales across South Wales.

Identify, approach, and win new business opportunities within sectors such as:

Facilities management companies

Manufacturing & industrial sites

Healthcare & education

Retail & hospitality

Promote and sell Newhall’s range of cleaning machinery, matching solutions to customer needs and budgets.

Conduct on-site demonstrations and trials of equipment to showcase performance and value.

Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, including lead generation through:

Cold calling

Networking

Referrals

Existing customer base

Produce quotes and proposals tailored to customer requirements.

Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery, installation, and after-sales support.

Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to drive:

Repeat machinery purchases

Upgrades and replacements

Monitor competitor offerings, pricing, and market trends within the machinery sector.

Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales and margin targets.

Qualifications and Skills

Proven track record in field sales, ideally within:

Cleaning machinery

Capital equipment

Industrial or technical sales

Strong demonstration and presentation skills (essential for machinery sales)

Ability to understand customer requirements and recommend technical solutions

Excellent negotiation and closing ability

Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently in a field-based role

Strong organisational and time management skills

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across South Wales

Desirable (but not essential)

Experience with floor cleaning equipment or machinery

Knowledge of leasing, hire, or service agreements

Existing network within South Wales commercial sectors

Pay: £32,500.00 per year
