Senior SDET (Contract)

Codurance is an innovative consultancy that helps organisations embrace the power of technology to drive business success. We are currently seeking an experienced contract SDET / QA Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Codurance SDET, you will be embedded directly within a high-autonomy engineering pod, owning quality end-to-end and working alongside a small team of AI-enabled engineers.

This is an initial 6-month contract, inside IR35.

Day rate: £500

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Strong test automation skills with a senior SDET or QA Engineer mindset and you own quality end-to-end, not just execute test cases

Experience building regression, feature validation, and performance test coverage, ideally from a low or undefined baseline

Comfort operating with high autonomy inside a small engineering squad, without a dedicated QA lead above you

An AI-first approach to your work. You actively use tools such as Claude Code to accelerate test authoring, triage, and design

The ability to participate in business requirements analysis, bug triage, and post mortem, not just testing

Flexibility to work US timezone hours, as the team operates occasionally with US schedules

It'll be a bonus if you have experience in embedded engineering environments or working within product squads with direct client exposure.
