Senior Solution Designer – APIs, Microservices & Integration

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Designer to join a fast-paced Agile delivery team. This role will be responsible for designing scalable, resilient, and high-quality technology solutions while working closely with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and vendors to deliver enterprise-grade capabilities into production.

The successful candidate will have strong experience across solution design, integration architectures, microservices, APIs, and end-to-end delivery from design through to production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Design end-to-end technology solutions aligned with business and enterprise architecture requirements.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and vendors to define solution designs and delivery approaches.

Produce high-quality solution design documentation and technical specifications.

Design scalable and resilient API and integration solutions using modern architectural principles.

Drive solution delivery from requirements through design, build, testing, release, and production deployment.

Support release planning and ensure safe implementation into production environments.

Manage technical dependencies, risks, and integration points across multiple systems.

Provide guidance on infrastructure, application configurations, and third-party integrations.

Act as the subject matter expert throughout the solution lifecycle.

Mandatory Requirements

7+ years of overall IT experience.

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Solution Designer, Solution Architect, or equivalent role.

Proven experience delivering solutions from design through to go-live and production support.

Strong understanding of solution architecture, integration design, infrastructure, and application configurations.

Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integration solutions.

Strong knowledge of:

REST Architecture Principles

Design Patterns

OpenAPI / Swagger

JSON Schema

SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture)

Experience with Microservices Architecture.

Experience with Kafka or similar event-driven messaging platforms.

Experience working within Azure DevOps environments.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Preferred Skills

Experience within Financial Services, Banking, or Retail Banking environments.

Exposure to large-scale enterprise transformation programs.

Knowledge of cloud-native and distributed architecture patterns.
