About the role

We are a fast-growing Chinese premium automotive and electric vehicle brand preparing our full-scale launch and expansion across Europe. As Product Manager – HONGQI Europe, you will play a central role in adapting and optimizing our product portfolio to meet European market requirements, regulations, customer expectations, and competitive realities.

This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, international environment and wants to play a central part in bringing a modern Chinese automotive brand to Europe.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee product compliance across Europe and proactively drive product improvement proposals to align vehicles with local regulations, safety standards, and homologation requirements.

Conduct in-depth localized research on European automotive products; continuously analyze competitor specifications, pricing strategies, features, and evolving customer needs in key markets.

Recommend product optimizations and customization and work closely with global HQ to align product offerings with European preferences, infrastructure (e.g. charging), and regulatory frameworks.

Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and channel teams on product launch strategies, positioning, go-to-market plans, and lifecycle management.

Deliver comprehensive product training and technical support to the European sales teams, dealers, and internal stakeholders.

Analyse product performance data, sales figures, customer feedback, and market trends in core European markets and prepare clear, actionable reports and recommendations for HQ and local leadership.

Support the definition and rollout of product variants, option packages, and feature enhancements tailored to specific European countries or customer segments.

Act as the European voice of the customer in global product development meetings and contribute to long-term product roadmap planning.

Required Experience and Background

5–8+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, or Technical Sales in the automotive or mobility industry (EV experience is a strong advantage).

Proven track record of managing or supporting product portfolios in international or European markets.

Experience working in a cross-cultural environment, ideally with Asian/global HQ and European local teams.

Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market data, customer insights, and competitor analysis into concrete product recommendations and actionable plans.

Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Commercial mindset combined with technical understanding of vehicles and automotive regulations.

Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and commercial audiences.

Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented attitude in a fast-paced, international scale-up environment.

Cultural agility – comfortable working with a remote/Chinese headquarters team.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Product Management, or a related field.

Languages

English (C1/C2 level) – mandatory and fluent.

Dutch and/or English are a strong plus; any other mayor European language (German, French, Italian, Spanish) is highly advantageous.

What We Offer

On-Target Earnings of €95,000 – €110,000 gross per year, based on a competitive fixed base salary plus a strong performance-related bonus.

Mobility Budget of €700 net per month (to cover your preferred form of transportation – lease car, public transport, e-bike, charging, etc.).

Hybrid working model based at our Amsterdam European HQ.
