Role/Department:

The Product Operating Model, Governance & Control Lead is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing the product operating model across Asset Servicing, in partnership with the COO of Product Management.

The role ensures consistent execution of product management practices, establishes effective governance and control frameworks, and aligns product lifecycle activities with risk, regulatory, and enterprise change requirements.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Product Operating Model Design & Delivery

Define, implement, and maintain the Asset Servicing Product Management operating model

Establish governance forums, decision rights, and execution cadence across Product teams

Embed the operating model across Segments, Regions, and Product Leads, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities

Governance Framework & Oversight

Establish and lead the product and product expansion governance framework

Define consistent evaluation criteria, oversight mechanisms, and approval processes for new capabilities and enhancements

Support rollout and adoption of new product approval and governance processes

Risk, Control & Regulatory Alignment

Ensure all product lifecycle activities comply with enterprise risk, regulatory, and control requirements

Act as the primary Product Management contact for Audit, RCSA, and control reviews

Lead cross-product audit coordination and ensure timely resolution of findings

Enterprise Change & Lifecycle Management

Act as the Product Management liaison to Enterprise Change Management (ECM)

Ensure alignment with enterprise policies, standards, and demand management processes

Document and operationalise the end-to-end product lifecycle across Asset Servicing

Product Expansion & Change Governance

Enhance governance of product expansion and change activities, including integration with Paragon permit-to-design and approval processes

Launch and scale the Solutions Partner framework to support product expansion decisions

Stakeholder Alignment & Connectivity

Re-establish and lead the “Connect the Dots” forum to drive alignment across Product, Sales, and Enablement functions

Partner with Segment, Region, and Product Leads to ensure consistent execution and alignment across the organisation

Skills / Qualifications:

Significant experience in financial services, ideally within Asset Servicing or Product Management

Strong knowledge of product operating models, governance frameworks, and lifecycle management

Experience working with risk, audit, and regulatory frameworks

Proven ability to partner across Product, Technology, Operations, and Control functions

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Experience supporting enterprise change initiatives and governance processes

Salary Range:

$137,400 - 233,600 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
