Investment Banking Analyst Trainee

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented Investment Banking Analyst Trainee to join our growing team. This role provides hands-on exposure to investment banking, venture capital fundraising, founder-investor engagement, deal sourcing, market research, and business development activities.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a keen interest in financial markets, startup ecosystems, private equity, venture capital, and corporate finance. The candidate will be actively involved in supporting fundraising mandates, investor outreach, lead generation, and client relationship management while working closely with founders, investors, and senior investment banking professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth research on companies, industries, market trends, startups, and investment opportunities.

Analyze company financial statements and prepare research reports, investment summaries, and industry insights.

Assist in preparing pitch decks, investor presentations, teasers, information memorandums, and fundraising materials.

Support financial analysis, business valuation, comparable company analysis, and performance assessments.

Generate and qualify leads for investment banking mandates, fundraising opportunities, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic transactions.

Conduct founder outreach and establish communication with startup founders, entrepreneurs, and business owners.

Perform investor outreach by identifying and connecting with Venture Capital Firms, Angel Investors, Family Offices, Private Equity Funds, and Institutional Investors.

Build and maintain investor databases, founder databases, and deal pipelines.

Support front-end business development activities for the Investment Banking division.

Schedule meetings, investor calls, and fundraising discussions between founders and potential investors.

Track deal flow, investor interactions, and fundraising progress across multiple mandates.

Communicate with clients for data collection, follow-ups, documentation, and transaction support.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of research outputs and client requirements.

Monitor financial markets, startup ecosystems, venture capital activities, and industry developments.

Maintain CRM systems, outreach trackers, and transaction databases.

Requirements

Strong understanding of financial concepts, corporate finance, and analytical thinking.

Excellent research, lead generation, and data interpretation skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with founders, investors, and clients.

Basic understanding of Venture Capital, Private Equity, Startup Fundraising, and Investment Banking processes.

Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, and financial research tools.

Ability to simplify complex financial information into actionable business insights.

Strong networking and relationship-building skills.

Self-motivated, target-driven, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

Prior coursework, internship, or exposure to Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Equity Research, Corporate Finance, Startup Ecosystems, or Financial Research will be preferred.
