Internal Sales Representative – Hire IndustryLocation: [Manchester] Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 + Bonus
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Internal Sales Representative to join our growing hire team. Working from our head office, you will be responsible for lead generation, chasing quotations, and supporting the external sales team to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sales experience.
Proactively identify and generate new business opportunities through outbound calls, emails.
Research and target potential customers within agreed sectors, territories, and market segments.
Qualify leads by understanding customer requirements, budgets, timelines, and decision-making processes.
Schedule appointments and meetings for external sales representatives and business development managers.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers using CRM systems.
Follow up on marketing campaigns, website enquiries, and inbound leads.
Develop relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target organisations.
Prepare and send quotations, proposals, and sales information as required.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activities.
Work closely with the external sales team.
Achieve and exceed agreed lead generation, appointment-setting, and sales targets.
Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services to existing customers.
Provide regular reports on lead generation activities, conversion rates, and pipeline performance.
Skills & Experience Essential
Previous internal sales, customer service, or account management experience.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Commercial awareness and a proactive sales approach.
Desirable
Experience within the hire industry, plant hire, tool hire, powered access, construction, or equipment rental sectors.
Knowledge of hire contracts and rental procedures.
Experience using CRM or hire management software.
