Project Manager

Downer is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of asphalt and surfacing projects. Based out of Brendale, you will manage project operations end-to-end while contributing to business growth, tendering, and customer relationship development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage end-to-end delivery of asphalt and surfacing projects, ensuring outcomes meet time, cost, quality, and safety objectives.

Coordinate resources including labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors across multiple projects.

Contribute to pricing, tendering, and contract negotiations to support business growth.

Build, maintain, and grow strong client relationships to drive repeat business opportunities.

Monitor project performance, manage risks, and resolve issues to ensure successful delivery.

Lead and develop project teams, providing coaching, direction, and performance feedback.

Promote and lead a strong Zero Harm safety culture across all project activities.

Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and operational best practice across the business.

ABOUT YOU

Proven experience in project or operations management within civil, road, or surfacing environments.

Certificate in Project Management and/or Civil Engineering (preferred).

Strong commercial acumen with experience in tendering, budgeting, and cost control.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships.

Experience leading teams and driving performance across multiple projects.

Sound knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Lead a safety‑focused culture that aligns with Zero Harm objectives and meets all sustainability, safety, and compliance targets.
