About the Role
We're looking for an ambitious and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to join our Enterprise Team.
As part of a close-knit team of experienced Business Development Managers, you'll be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities with large, levy-paying organisations. Through a combination of research, outreach, relationship building, and consultative selling, you'll introduce prospective clients to KnowledgeBrief's apprenticeship and professional development solutions.
Enterprise sales is rarely about quick wins. Success in this role comes from understanding client challenges, building credibility with senior stakeholders, and nurturing opportunities through longer sales cycles. You'll engage with HR Directors, Learning & Development leaders, Chief People Officers, and other decision-makers to understand their workforce development goals and demonstrate how our programmes can help achieve them.
This role would suit someone who is professional, commercially aware, and confident building relationships with senior leaders within large organisations.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
Develop new business opportunities with enterprise and levy-paying organisations
Research target organisations and build strategic outreach campaigns
Generate and nurture opportunities through a combination of telephone, email, LinkedIn, in-person networking and marketing activity
Achieve individual and team targets for apprenticeship starts and commercial growth
Build relationships with senior stakeholders including HR, L&D, Talent, and People leaders
Deliver engaging meetings, presentations, and platform demonstrations
Develop tailored proposals and solutions aligned to client needs
Manage opportunities through the sales pipeline and maintain accurate CRM records
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Commercial, Marketing, Curriculum, and Operations teams
Build long-term client relationships that support sustainable growth and repeat business
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Essential
Previous experience in business development, sales, account management, or client relationship management
Experience engaging with senior decision-makers
Ability to manage a pipeline of opportunities and work towards targets
A proactive, resilient, and self-motivated approach
Passion for learning, development, and helping organisations grow their people
Strong organisation, planning, and time management skills
Professional, credible, and confident in client-facing environments
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Desirable
Experience within apprenticeships, training, education, learning technology, or professional services (highly desirable)
Experience selling to enterprise or levy-paying organisations
Experience using CRM systems and sales engagement tools
Knowledge of apprenticeship funding and workforce development solutions
Experience delivering presentations, proposals, or consultative sales meetings
