The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to help lead our Australian Shared Services Centre (SSC) Tax Accounting function. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring taxation compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement across the business.
Reporting to the Taxation Counsel, you will play a critical role in managing both direct and indirect tax obligations while driving process improvements and supporting strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all direct and indirect taxation reporting and compliance activities
Prepare and manage Income Tax Returns, including consolidation and supporting schedules
Oversee FBT, GST/BAS, IAS, and Fuel Tax Credit reporting and lodgements
Coordinate tax effect accounting and quarterly group reporting requirements
Maintain and improve internal control systems aligned to compliance and audit standards
Provide technical tax guidance and training across the business
Supervise and review work performed within the Tax Accounting team
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and overall service delivery
Analyse legislative changes and ensure ongoing compliance with Australian tax law
Support audits, reviews, and ad hoc tax projects
About You
Experience & Qualifications
3–5+ years’ recent experience in taxation accounting
Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline
CA or CPA qualification (essential)
Experience with SAP or corporate tax systems (e.g., OneSource) highly regarded
Skills & Attributes
Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation (Income Tax, GST, FBT)
Advanced MS Excel and high-level analytical capability
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to lead, coach, and influence others
Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong commercial acumen
